|About the Book|
With dogged determination and bravery, Toto guided Dorothy and the others through one perilous adventure after another. At least that is how Toto tells it in his humorous interpretation of the Wizard of Oz, filled with offbeat conversations and peppered with puns. In Totos retelling of the Adventures in, he paints Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Lion as not so bright and often befuddled when faced with obstacles and challenges and it takes Totos ingenuity and insight to overcome them. However, it Totos lack of communication between he and the others that prevents him from receiving due credit. Although he enunciates his barks clearly, more often than not, the others fail to grasp Totos reasoning or clever ideas, a frustration he endures until books end. If you have ever owned and loved a dog, you will enjoy this parody of the original Wizard of Oz story published in 1900, one filled with more adventures and characters than are contain in the movie version.
